About

Patrick Bentley is a wildlife photographer based in the South Luangwa National Park. He is a fifth-generation Zambian and grew up in the bush of Zambia’s Northwestern Province. Here he learned to respect and appreciate the diversity of the wildlife on his doorstep and then to capture these experiences through photography. As a wildlife photographer he is obsessed with capturing images of the natural world and animals in the wild. As a naturalist he is equally passionate about the conservation and protection of the wildlife he photographs.

Living in a National Park he has daily access to a diverse and inspiring range of wildlife subjects. He is also a qualified and experienced safari guide. He began guiding in the South Luangwa in 1994 and believes his knowledge of the area and its wildlife enhances his own images and offers his photographic safari clients a unique and comprehensive photographic experience.

Patrick’s blog, Living Luangwa, is updated twice a week with some of his latest images as well as stories and information on the wildlife of the Luangwa Valley and the challenges of photographing them.

Patrick licences his images through various stock agencies worldwide as well as through his own stock library. His images are available in print through this website. He is also available for commission work and has undertaken contract work for National Geographic among others.
